1.) What is the homework format expected for the class? Download Homework Format Here

The course description requires that the homework is to be done in pencil on a single side of engineering paper. In addition all work must be shown in detail. Assume you are preparing a document to be handed to your employer/manager. They are expecting to be able to read and understand what the exact problem is from your work and easily scan to the correct answer. Its suggested that you start with the basic problem statement and include the full free body diagram labeled with all pertinent information. Any assumptions should be stated clearly before proceeding. It is expected that all work is shown even if software such as Matlab is used for obtaining solutions. 2.) When we did the vortex panel method about two lectures ago, you said you could give us a copy of the figure you put up on the projector in lecture. Anderson's book is confusing. How responsible are we for this method? The book is in the library. If it is out, let me know and I will call it in and hold it on reserve. As for what you should know from this, I think I said in class that you should understand the concepts clearly, especially the capabilities and differences with source panel methods. I would not expect you to perform a detailed analysis on an exam.
